It is important to develop emotional intelligence in adolescents, as this is a difficult stage of change, one in which it is difficult to understand their own and others' emotions. Therefore, it is crucial to provide young people with coping strategies. The project is based on an intervention consisting of seven activities organized over four sessions, delivered by a social worker, with supervision and assistance from the center's teacher. The intervention will be implemented in the Male Coexistence Educational Group (GEC) in the province of Jaén, with adolescents between the ages of 14 and 17. In the following pages, we can find information on emotional intelligence and education in the child and adolescent population, as well as concepts related to mental health, anxiety, and depression. The project originates from the emotional needs, in all aspects, generated in young people and seeks to improve emotional intelligence as well as understand their own emotions and those of others. The methodology used encompasses both individual and group settings, fostering a climate of trust and adapting the different sessions to the needs of each participant, using a fun and motivating teaching-learning methodology. It is important to note that in the near future, the project will be extended to other Educational Coexistence Groups in the Andalusian province, managed by the Meridianos Foundation.
