[EN]The aim of the study was to analyze the effects of the Bilbo Method in the 1RM, the mean concentric velocity (MV), mean concentric power (MCP), Wilks points and chest and arm perimeter. 26 powerlifters volunteered and were divided into experimental group (n=13) and control group (n=13). Pre-test and Post-test consisted of a 1RM test, the measurement of MV and MCP of 80%, 85%, 90%, 95% RM and 1RM with a linear position transducer, the measurement of chest and arm perimeter and a wighing to calculate Wilk points. The results show differences between Pre and Post in the 1RM and Wilks points, in all the values of MV and MCP (except in 1RM) and chest perimeter. There were differences between groups in the arm perimeter, MV and CMP of 80%RM. It was concluded that reducing the intensity doesn´t seem to reduce the maximum strength gain. Key words: strength training, sport performance, Bilbo Method, powerlifters
