[EN]This dissertation is the final compendium of studies from the master's degree in Arts, Music and Design Research at the University of Jaén in which is analyzed the tempo by different interpretations about Ludwig Van Beethoven’s Symphony no. 1, Op. 21, his first classical work that breaks with the characteristics of the symphonies in his period. Undoubtedly, the tempo is one of those innovations that Beethoven introduces, so this research analyzes how each director and interpreter studied here executes it in a different way. Thus, it’s suggested the bases of a comparative study, in which the interpretations of different famous directors are taken as examples for analyzing the performance of the tempo of each one. In that sense, the investigation study the tempo of the symphony of composer Ludwig Van Beethoven in order to know which interpretation is more plausible and approaches to the original one but, beyond that, with the purpose to find the reason of the compositional form and the relations between the movements and the tempo. Keywords: music, classicism, symphony, Beethoven, study, analysis, tempo.
