In addition, Ignatius' quixotic idealism will lead him to live a series of hilarious adventures in the city of New Orleans as he advances in his pilgrimage through the working system. For all these reasons, this dissertation focuses on analysing the possible influences exerted by Cervantes' novel on John Kennedy Toole's A Confederacy of Dunces.
