[EN]The aim of the following systematic review based on the PRISMA protocol is characterize the human-pet bond between homeless people and their companion animals through an analysis of the research done up to date and published in scientific journals. In order to do so, eight da- tabases in french, english and spanish were consulted. From 6651 citations, ten were included in the review after applying the inclusion/exclusion criteria. The results of the studies included give evidence about the positive effects that the human-pet bond has in the emotional well-be- ing of the homeless but also states that they are psychologically more vulnerable. Furthermore, evidence was found about the problem of rehousing homeless pet owners because of the strong attachment towards their pets. Even though the research results don’t seem to differ much, there are not many quantitative studies about the human-animal bond, so more research needs to be done. Key words: human-pet bonding, homelessness, attachment, rehousing, company, social isola- tion, pet
