(EN)The land cover of an area of Estepa (Seville) has been analyzed, focusing on the olive grove and, especially on the difference between conventional and sustainable olive groves. For this, medium resolution satellite images (Sentinel) have been used, which have been classified and in which the monthly vegetation indices (NDVI, SAVI and NDI45) have been calculated for five years (2015-2020). Meanwhile, high-resolution images have been have been also classified in order to estimate the tree and herbaceous cover that have been compared with the previous indices; additionally, they have been analyzed texturally. The results have been related to weather conditions (rainfall), obtaining significant correlations in many cases; at the same time, they have allowed to characterize and differentiate the conventional olive grove from the sustainable one, with good results in general. Thus, the usefulness of remote sensing techniques for the proposed objectives has been demonstrated.
