THE USE OF L1 IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSROOM

Abstract

(ES)Estudio comparativo sobre el uso del español (L1) como medio para la enseñanza de vocabulario en inglés (L2) realizado a un total de 10 estudiantes cursando un nivel intermedio (B1) según el CEFR. Se han analizado los resultados obtenidos por los alumnos tras haber recibido instrucción sobre 60 términos en inglés: 30 términos usando definiciones en inglés y 30 términos con definiciones en inglés y su traducción al español. Es estudio incluye el análisis del tipo de palabra (adjetivos, nombres y verbos), el conocimiento productivo y receptivo y el conocimiento a corto y largo plazo.(EN)Comparative study of Spanish language use (L1) for English vocabulary teaching (L2) carried out to a total of 10 students studying at an intermediate level (B1) according to CEFR. Students were taught 60 English terms under two different conditions: 30 terms using English definitions and 30 terms with English definitions and Spanish translation.
