Two-frequency GNSS receivers are widely used in geomatics applications, however, low-cost single-frequency receivers have been relegated to navigation applications. The "International Organization for Stardization" published the ISO 17123-8 standard with the objective of specifying procedures for determining the accuracy of real-time (RTK) GNSS measurement systems. Using this standard we evaluated the u-blox NEO-M8P considering the single-base RTK solution. In addition, to analyze the real-time positioning quality, tests were performed at several control points. Precision, accuracy and repeatability of RTK positioning are considered as evaluation parameters. Due to distance-dependent errors, the RTK positioning quality slightly decreases with increasing distance to the reference station. However, the results indicate that these receivers can achieve competitive RTK positioning performance for short baselines.
