Las personas discapacitadas, a pesar de tener reconocido en la normativa el derecho al trabajo en condiciones de igualdad, en múltiples ocasiones presentan limitaciones para acceder al mercado laboral. Este colectivo, se enfrenta a enormes barreras, físicas y de la información, que dificultan el disfrute a la igualdad de oportunidades en el mundo del trabajo, en comparación con el resto de la sociedad. En la actualidad, aún siguen existiendo prejuicios sobre las aptitudes y la competitividad de las personas con discapacidad en un determinado trabajo, por lo que es considerado un colectivo prioritario para la puesta en marcha de políticas de empleo. A su vez, son muchas las asociaciones que respaldan a este sector de la población como pueden ser la Fundación ONCE o CERMI, cuyo es objetivo es lograr una plena integración en el mercado de trabajo y que estas personas puedan gozar de las mismas oportunidades y derechos
