manifestaciones: K-Movies, K-Dramas y K-Pop.
(EN) During the XXI century, the “Korean Wave” (Hallyu) has gradually awakened global interest in the (South) Korean culture and it has been quickly spreading over the international sphere, particularly in the West. The success of this sociocultural phenomenon is especially linked to the great popularity and attractive of its three main expressions: K-Movies, K-Dramas and K-Pop. In this End of Degree Project, we will focus on analysing the influence of each over the global image of Korea in terms of society, culture and economy along its rebirth as a nation. Likewise, we will thoroughly study this cultural hybridization of which K-Pop makes use by analysing the Eastern-Western intertextuality present in the transmedia narrative of BTS’s MV ‘ON’ (2020), the most notorious K-Pop boy group in the global music industry nowadays. Finally, we will conclude with some of the most relevant observations on the results of our piece of research
