[EN] Mindfulness is a technique of Buddhist tradition that comprises a psychological evolution of self-regulation of emotions, focusing full attention to the present moment in a non-reactive way, avoiding judgment. This paper investigates mindfulness and its modes of intervention considered as an alternative for cognitive stimulation of older adults with mild cognitive impairment, seeking to improve the quality of life of this particular group. Subsequently, an intervention project focused on this technique is presented, to promote a positive attitude towards the daily adversities of life, preventing the person from recreating unhealthy thoughts. The person must achieve skills to manage more effectively those negative thoughts, having a healthier perspective, being aware of all those that distort the reality of the present moment.
