El presente Trabajo Fin de Grado se trata de un estudio y de una revisión bibliográfica de la realidad social en la que se encuentran las personas mayores dependientes que padecen Alzheimer y/o Parkinson. El incremento de la esperanza de vida y del envejecimiento de la población, ha provocado un aumento de la aparición de enfermedades neurodegenerativas en nuestro país, convirtiéndose en uno de los problemas de salud pública más grave de los países desarrollados, donde son las familias las que cubren la mayoría de los cuidados y los costes derivados de la enfermedad. Este estudio tiene la finalidad de destacar el papel clave que tiene el Trabajo Social en la intervención con estas personas y con sus familiares, realizar una valoración crítica de la Ley de dependencia, y dar una aproximación de la posibilidad de las nuevas tecnologías y de la
domótica como una oportunidad de innovación social para el Trabajo Social
