The study presents evidence that gamification, specifically the implementation of WebQuest, not only increases student motivation and engagement, but also significantly improves retention and application of English language content. A pilot study is provided in which students were divided into two groups, one of which participated in gamified activities. The results showed that the motivated and participative students significantly improved their performance compared to the control group. It also provides recommendations for teachers to integrate gamification into their English classroom and optimize the process of learning a foreign language.
