One of the main challenges facing most developed countries is the progressive ageing of their populations due to falling birth rates and increasing life expectancy. Ensuring the well-being of this high percentage of elderly people is an economic and social challenge, because these people also wish to prolong their independent life, remaining in their homes and preserving their quality of life. Th Is need for resources for the care of the elderly in the care and domestic sphere has a very important economic impact, which is why lines of research have begun to be developed on how technology can help the elderly to maintain a certain degree of autonomy despite a certain degree of deterioration in their physical and cognitive capacities. In This regard, technological progress in recent years has led to the design of a considerable number of robots with great potential for use in everyday life. This has led to the emergence of social robots for assistive, playful and even affective purposes. As We will see in this paper, the creation of robots for the care of the elderly has experienced a remarkable growth, supported by a growing number of studies and research in this field, and with a significant impact on the daily life of our elders.
