[EN]The current essay deals with the new ways of social exclusion and vulnerability which have appeared as a consequence of the economic crisis and thus, the new profile of community social services users through an in depth study of some of the benefits and/or services in charge of the management of the basic necessities coverage in families suffering from what is being called severe material deprivation. After a brief bibliographical checking of some of the approaches studying the exclusion issue, the social emergency benefits are examined as well as family economic grants, the so –called Solidarity programme and the new Law 7/2013 about Extraordinary and Emergency measures against social exclusion in Andalusia, as the new phenomenon trying to ease family crisis situations. Together with that we include a reflection on the role of Social Services in the future and thus on the Social Work as well.
