[EN]Early Modern Age will mark a turning point in the history of Europe and Spain. Humanism will change the conception of everything that surrounds the man. Catholic Church, which had held all the power until then, gave part of this power to the royalty and the nobility, that will turn into the most important patron of the arts. Music and musicians of the period were also transformed and reached a freedom never seen before, being used by patrons to self-affirm their status and prestige. This investigation presents the role of minstrels chapels and its function as linkers between church and town, what is religious and what is profane. I will contextualize the Spanish case and I will focus on Andújar as example of a city with a music chapel with great protagonism of minstrels, musicians little recognized yet but essential in the solemnization of the most important festivities of the time.
