This Master's Thesis proposes a bibliographic review and a didactic proposal based on the musical genre of reggaeton as an educational platform. Through the study and analysis of reggaeton, this thesis encourages critical thinking and promote values and socialization among adolescents, for whom this genre has a very prominent role. The thesis draws on two fundamental theoretical lines of enquiry: one that considers the significant impact that popular music has among adolescents; and another that values an attention to the musical preferences of students in the educational context. This approach is fundamental in contemporary music education : it not only allows students to analyze and better understand reggaeton as a socio-cultural and musical phenomenon but also encourages skills of reflection, debate and critical thinking while also promoting fundamental values such as respect, equality, and inclusion
