EFECTOS DE LAS CONDICIONES DE CRÍA EN EL COMPORTAMIENTO DEL PERRO ADULTO. UNA REVISIÓN BIBLIOGRÁFICA.

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo de este trabajo fue resumir los resultados de estudios existentes en la literatura científica acerca de las relaciones entre las condiciones de cría de cachorros de hasta 8 semanas de edad y el desarrollo de problemas de comportamiento en edad adulta. Para ello se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica de artículos que pusieran de manifiesto los efectos de diferentes circunstancias sociales y ambientales de la vida temprana del cachorro en su comportamiento futuro. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que la selección previa de los padres reproductores, el origen del cachorro, la privación o exposición inadecuada a estímulos, el estrés materno, el destete y la separación precoz de la camada, así como la falta de socialización, guardan relación con la incidencia de problemas de conducta en la edad adulta, que deterioran el bienestar del animal y la relación con el dueño, derivando en abandono, maltrato o sacrificio.

[EN] The objective of this work was to summarize the results of existing studies in the scientific literature on the relationships between rearing conditions of puppies up to 8 weeks of age and the development of behavioral problems in adulthood. To this end, a literature search was conducted for articles that highlighted the effects of different social and environmental circumstances in the early life of the puppy on its future behavior. The results show that the previous selection of breeding parents, the origin of the puppy, deprivation or inadequate exposure to stimuli, maternal stress, weaning and early separation from the litter, as well as the lack of socialization, are related to the incidence of behavioral problems in adulthood, which deteriorate the animal's welfare and the relationship with the owner, leading to abandonment, mistreatment or culling.
