To this end, a literature search was conducted for articles that highlighted the effects of different social and environmental circumstances in the early life of the puppy on its future behavior. The results show that the previous selection of breeding parents, the origin of the puppy, deprivation or inadequate exposure to stimuli, maternal stress, weaning and early separation from the litter, as well as the lack of socialization, are related to the incidence of behavioral problems in adulthood, which deteriorate the animal's welfare and the relationship with the owner, leading to abandonment, mistreatment or culling.
