This dissertation carries out a review about associative deficit hypothesis same an explanation of episodic memory change in aging. This hypothesis claimed that an important component of older adults’ poorer episodic memory is their deficiency in creating and retrieving links between single units of information. This analysis is of great interest because it shows the study of the hypothesis of associative age-related deficits in recent years. In addition, states are the conditions in which execution occurs worse by seniors in memory tasks are, what factors influence the increase of the associative deficit and what factors may, however, help the elderly to reduce the deficit.
