Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine disease which causes hormonal imbalance producing menstrual problems and infertility due to the lack of ovulation. This work has been carried out with the aim to compare the gene expression profile of skeletal muscle samples from healthy women and women with insulin resistance and PCOS, obtained by microarray technology, to identify the genes that may be involved in the pathogenesis, as well as inquire in the knowledge and use of computational Systems Biology approaches.
