Quebec, Escocia o Kosovo.
[EN] Regarding the recent events that have taken place in the Spanish political sphere with the Catalan independence movement challenging the territorial integrity of the State, it is necessary to carefully study the response that the international community gives in this matter. Among the pretensions of this independence movement there are mainly two that will be the object of study of this work: on the one hand, we have the right to self- determination of the peoples: on the other hand, we have the defense of the democratic principle. The second foundation is given by the difficulty of adjusting before to the demands that the Catalan movement proposes. In addition, we will make a brief reference and comparison of the Catalan secessionist process with other processes that have already taken place, such as Quebec’s, Scotland’s or Kosovo’s
