Resumen
(ES) Saber qué variables determinan un buen rendimiento académico es fundamental para
el avance y mejora del sistema educativo actual. El objetivo de nuestro estudio es revisar la
relación entre los factores de la personalidad y el buen desempeño académico. Para ello, en
primer lugar, se ha definido el concepto de rendimiento académico y se han estudiado las
variables que influyen. A continuación, se ha realizado un repaso de las principales teorías de
la personalidad relacionadas con la motivación y la inteligencia emocional y, para finalizar, se
ha revisado la Teoría de los Cinco Grandes, se ha justificado su uso y se ha analizado la relación
entre cada rasgo y el rendimiento académico. La conclusión principal de esta revisión es que,
la motivación, la inteligencia emocional y los rasgos de la personalidad están muy relacionados
con el rendimiento académico.

The objective of our study is to review the relationship between personality factors and good academic performance. To do this, firstly, the concept of academic performance has been defined and the variables that influence it have been studied. Next, a review of the main personality theories related to motivation and emotional intelligence has been carried out and, finally, the Big Five Theory has been reviewed, its use has been justified and the relationship between each trait and academic performance. The main conclusion of this review is that motivation, emotional intelligence and personality traits are closely related to academic performance.
