Plataformas telemáticas para servicios de transporte

Abstract

[ES]El trabajo profundiza la creciente interrelación entre el transporte y las tecnologías de la información centrándose en el potencial de las plataformas telemáticas para servicios de transporte. Desde un análisis del primer gran esfuerzo en EEUU abordando la integración vehículo-infraestructura en 2004, analiza, con ejemplos, la evolución desde la perspectiva del vehículo y de las infraestructuras de tecnologías de la información. Concluye que las plataformas telemáticas en el transporte constituyen la convergencia entre dos sectores de gran importancia económica pero con muy distintas culturas. El punto de encuentro revolucionará la visión del transporte y tendrá una gran influencia en muchos otros sectores.

[EN]The work addresses the increasing relation between transport and information technologies centering itself in the potential of telematics platforms for transport services. Starting from an analysis of the first large vehicle-infrastructure integration efforts initiated in 2004 in the United States, it analyses with examples the evolution both from the vehicle perspective and from the information technology infrastructures. It concludes that transport telematics platforms constitute the convergence between two sectors of great economic importance but with very different cultures. The meeting point will revolution the vision of transport and will have great influence in many other sectors.
