Some time ago, ADHD was considered a disorder that only affected to children and it disappeared in middle ages. As the time goes by, some studies of monitoring have been made in children with ADHD showing this idea was wrong. It has been specifically pointed out that attention deficit in adults tend to persist, stading out specially in the work environment; on the contrary the impulsiviness and hyperkinesia might diminish. There are many adults affected by these misleading ideas, so they are unperceived and don’t receive an appropriate diagnosis and treatment by which it could have important implications at personal, social and labour level in these patients. For this reason, the evolution of the concept ADHD is examined in that project so as to know possible new data about the aforementioned disorder. It has been reviewed several researchs that have been carried out in the last years about adults with ADHD, highlighting specially those cognitive and emotional deficits these patients present.
