TEACHING DON QUIXOTE IN THE ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE PRIMARY SCHOOL CLASSROOM IN SPAIN

[ES] Este Trabajo Fin de Máster trata de fomentar la lectura de uno de los grandes éxitos mundiales literarios
españoles como es Don Quijote. Trabajar esta novela desde cualquier área siendo La lengua extranjera
quien haga hueco en ella es muy importante, ya que se pretende enseñar valores tales como la diversidad
y la interculturalidad. Asimismo, promover la importancia de la literatura, de la lectura así como desde el
punto de vista pedagógico saber muy bien que criterios seguir para seleccionar materiales didácticos
adecuados. Por lo tanto, se analizan tres obras adaptadas en inglés para el segundo y tercer ciclo de
Educación Primaria. Estas adaptaciones se examinarán para aprobar o desaprobar si son apropiados o no
para trabajar en esta etapa.
[EN] This Master Dissertation aims to promote the reading of one of the greatest Spanish literary successes in the world, Don Quixote. Working this novel from ant area, being the foreign language the one who makes room in it, is very relevant, since it is intended to teach values such as diversity and interculturality. Furthermore, to promote the importance of literature, reading and from pedagogical point of view, knowing very well what criteria to follow in order to select adequate didactic materials. Therefore, three works adapted in English for the second and third cycle of Primary Education are analyzed. These adaptations will be examined to approve or disapprove if they are appropriate or not to work at this stage.
