The aim of the study was to analyze the level of MC in secondary school students in relation to gender and to examine its relationship with health habits, as well as to verify the validity and reliability of the holistic test. The study involved 195 adolescents (boys and girls). Questionnaires, a cognitive test, and a holistic test were used to evaluate MC, sports habits, quality of life, and memory. The results show significant differences between boys and girls in the times (partial and total) of the holistic test, with girls obtaining higher times. No significant differences were found in the cognitive variables or health habits. The study concludes that MC in adolescence is influenced by gender, that is, boys have better levels of motor competence, and that it is important to promote healthy lifestyle habits for optimal development.
