De la oralidad a la escritura: Los Cuentos de la Alhambra de Washington Irving en el aula de primaria.

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo de este Trabajo Fin de Máster es incidir en la importancia de la literatura popular de transmisión oral que, en un segundo momento, se puso por escrito y advertir las posibilidad educativas que tiene en el nivel de Primaria. El ámbito escogido es el de Granada, una provincia histórica y culturalmente muy rica, de la que se conocen muchos cuentos, leyendas y otras manifestaciones literarias. Como ejemplo de todo ello, he recurrido a los famosos Cuentos de la Alhambra que Washington Irving recopiló durante su estancia en los palacios nazaríes y que, aunque publicó en 1832, todavía hoy siguen despertando interés. A partir de este material, se elabora una propuesta didáctica.

[EN] The main objective of this TFM is to make known the popular literature of the province of Granada, whose interest made it be put in writing, with the idea of highlighting its literary and cultural value applicable to teaching. Different popular literary creations such as songs, legends, tales, etc. will be shown. The author Washington Irving and his work Tales of the Alhambra will be taken as an example for the collection of popular works, all related to the educational field and carried out in a primary school classroom. In the first instance, theoretical concepts related to the passage from orality to writing and its characteristics will be addressed. Consequently, we will try to approach the period of greatest apogee of popular literature and we will get to know the life and work of Washington Irving and his relationship with the territory of Granada. At the end, we will establish a didactic proposal focused on the passage from oral to written literature and using Irving's work Tales of the Alhambra as the main resource. In this proposal, significant activities oriented and directed to the primary classroom are pursued
