In this paper, the different forms of discrimination against women and girls in China from ancient times to the present day are described. To this end, a literature review is carried out on the different problems and discriminatory situations that women and girls have faced in China for centuries. Consequently, numerous scenarios in which there is strong discrimination against women and girls are addressed. Furthermore, research was also carried out by means of a questionnaire of our own elaboration, with the aim of detecting the stereotypes held in Andalusia about China and its customs, as well as the stereotypes held about Chinese girls adopted by Spanish families.
