It has been tried from the beginning that the merchants had the maximum possible facilities and that is why the figures of the maritime loan and maritime insurance arise. In this work we will analyze what the pecunia tracecticia consists of, its evolution and its components. We will also treat the ships that were used for this maritime transport, the people who intervened in these contracts and the risks they faced. Finally we will see how the maritime loan has evolved up to what is now known as maritime insurance and general insurance contract and the evolution that has taken place throughout history more specifically in Spain.
