Abstract

La utilización de la Terapia Asistida con Animales de compañía (TAAC) es un proceso con unos objetivos concretos que se lleva a cabo mediante la participación activa de un animal. Este proyecto propone su base en la aplicación de (TAAC) en personas adultas mayores institucionalizadas siendo un técnica novedosa que consta de numerosos beneficios en diferentes ámbitos (psíquicos, socio-afectivos, psicomotrices y físicos), obteniéndose excelentes consecuencias sobre las personas destinatarias y quedando demostrado como la presencia del animal de compañía aporta efectos positivos para la memoria a corto y largo plazo, para la salud a corto plazo, contribuye al estímulo multisensorial, es un facilitador social y catalizador de emociones así como también ayuda a reforzar la conducta positiva de la persona destinataria.
