Estudio histórico-tecnológico del carro que apunta al sur

Abstract

[ES] El objetivo del trabajo ha sido estudiar el origen del carro que apunta al sur, leyendas e indicios históricos, y su evolución, así como utilizar programas de modelado geométrico para obtener un modelo virtual del mecanismo y posteriormente,a partir de este modelo, realizar una animación para poder ver este mecanismo en funcionamiento sin necesidad de un modelo físico.También se ha realizado un análisis cinemático previo para conocer su funcionamiento y poder realizar la animación. El carro utiliza un diferencial mecanico para contrarrestar la rotación del carro y transmitir este movimiento a una figura situada ensu parte superior que apuntaré siempre en la dirección que se haya orientado, para el caso de la cultura china, creadores del carro, el sur era su dirección de referencia para orientarse.[EN] The aim of the article is to study the origin of this mechanism, legends and historical evidence, and its evolution, and use geometric modeling software to create a virtual modal of the mechanism and,an animation to see this mechanisnm operation without a physical modal. Also there has been a previous kinematic analysls to understand its motion and to make the animation. The south pointing charlot is a mechanical compasa that used a differential to move a figure, on the top of the charlot, counteracting the rotational movement, this way the figure always pointed in the direction that had been positioned. The charlot could not point south itself, it had to be calibrated to point south, reference direction for Chinase culture, and the mechanism inside kept the figure pointing in this direction.
