Mental health has gained visibility in various fields. Each day, there is more discussion about mental disorders and the significance of self-care, both physical and psychological. However, what is the view and importance given to mental health from the point of view of Social Work? This Bachelor's thesis has been set out with the aim of knowing and reflecting the existing theory about the link between the Social Work profession and the mental health area. The results obtained address the functions, tools, and intervention models used by professionals of this discipline when intervening with people who have been diagnosed with a mental disorder, always taking into account the prejudices, stereotypes, and the discrimination these people have to face on a daily basis. Besides this, the role family plays is presented, and specifically that of women, as potential core caregivers of the diagnosed person
