(ES) Dentro de los trastornos de ansiedad existe una patología llamada agorafobia. Se caracteriza por
experimentar una gran ansiedad ante ciertas situaciones, en las cuales podría ser difícil escapar o pedir
ayuda si ocurriese algo peligroso. Se presenta el caso de una mujer que, desde hace años, siente ansiedad al
subir en el ascensor. Además, experimentó y experimenta malestar en otras situaciones agorafóbicas, como
ir al cine. El objetivo principal de esta propuesta de intervención es eliminar o reducir su malestar cuando
tiene que usar el ascensor. Para conocer mejor el caso se realizaron varias entrevistas con la paciente.
También se midió, la autoeficacia, el apoyo social, la sintomatología depresiva, la autoestima, las estrategias
de afrontamiento, la sensibilidad a la ansiedad, las cogniciones agorafóbicas, la ansiedad experimentada en
determinados sitios agorafóbicos y algunos aspectos de su personalidad. Tras la evaluación, se propone
una intervención consistente en terapia cognitiva, entrenamiento en relajación progresiva y
desensibilización sistemática.
(EN) Within the anxiety disorders there is a pathology called agoraphobia. It is characterized by experiencing great anxiety in certain situations, in which it may be difficult to escape or call for help if something dangerous happens.
