The objective that has led us to carry out this work is none other than to study the influence that the myth of Phaedra has had since its origins until today in different authors. To do this, we will focus, first, on knowing what a myth is. Next, we will capture in our work the playwrights that have seemed to us that have greater interest, from the oldest to the closest to our days, when it comes to treating this myth. For this, we will study mainly the work of Phaedra by Lucio Anneo Séneca and Phèdre by Jean Racine. Next, we will see the behaviour that the character of Phaedra has compared to other female characters written by Seneca. In addition, we will reflect the enormous impact that Phaedra has had, specifically in music and cinema. Finally, we will make a comparison of both works in which we will observe the similarities and differences that exist between them.
