[EN] Lower limb amputations generate several changes in people, triggering needs that must be met in their rehabilitation process. Hippotherapy is proposed as an additional therapy to conventional physiotherapy treatment. An experimental group and a control group composed of people with transfemoral and transtibial amputations will be included. Balance and quality of life will be assessed. The control group will receive physiotherapy, and the experimental group physiotherapy plus hippotherapy. It is intended to verify that hippotherapy can improve balance and quality of life in amputees due to the similarity that the horse has with the human gait and the stimuli that it is capable of transmitting to the rider. The experimental group is expected to obtain better results in balance and quality of life compared to the control group. Keywords: lower limb amputation, amputees, horse-assisted therapy, physiotherapy, rehabilitation, adults.
