The project focuses on creating a system that combines an on-board drone and a ground station to efficiently gather olives and measure olive oil concentration using the gravimetric method. The on-board drone system includes a gripper mechanism and a camera for real-time visualization and precise olive collection. Collected olives are transported to the ground station, where a robotic arm transfers them to the measurement setup. A load cell is used to measure the mass of the olive oil, followed by the application of a chemical solvent and heating as part of the gravimetric method. The project involved extensive research, design, calculations, and prototyping. The successful assembly and testing of the prototype have demonstrated its feasibility. Future steps involve conducting extensive field experiments to validate and refine the system.
