Resumen
[ES] En un entorno de fuerte crisis económica en el sistema financiero
español, el Estado se vio en la obligación de pedir ayuda a Europa.
A cambio, el Gobierno se comprometió, con la firma del
Memorando de Entendimiento, a cumplir unos requisitos, entre
ellos, la creación de una Sociedad de Gestión de Activos.
Esta sociedad ayudaría a las entidades financieras a deshacerse de
los activos tóxicos que lastraban sus balances y a favorecer los
procesos de reestructuración bancaria.
Mediante este trabajo, intentaremos explicar por qué se llegó a su
creación en España, cuáles son sus objetivos y características,
además de explicar su funcionamiento. Asimismo, se realizará un
análisis detallado de sus primeros años de actividad.
En definitiva, se intenta dar una visión concreta de la SAREB,
para un mayor conocimiento de la entidad.
[EN] In an environment of strong economic crisis in the Spanish financia! system, the State was obliged to seek help from Europe. In return, by signing the Memorandum ofUnderstanding the government committed itself meet certain requirements, including the creation of a Society Asset Management. This company would help financia! institutions get rid of toxic assets that weighed clown their balance sheets and to encourage bank restructuring processes. Through this paper, we try to explain why this institution was created in Spain, which are its objectives and characteristics. In addition to, we will explain its operation. Likewise, a detailed report of its first years of activity analysis will be performed. In general, we try to give a concrete vision of the SAREB, for a better understanding of the entity.
