The dynastic change is one of the most important facts of the modern history of Spain, within this will highlight the figure of Cardinal Portocarrero as the architect of this dynastic change through a policy in which seeks to end the ills of Spain own XVII Century and to establish a prince able to change these evils, but always maintaining the traditional structure embodied in the figure of the Duke of Anjou and the future Philip V once Charles II leaves to him his possessions and kingdoms. But it is not easy this fact because the change dynastic on behalf of the Bourbons will bring a war both Civil and international against the Alliance of The Hague to the possible rupture of balance in Europe, where Spain will lose his European possessions, and this passing to his rivals following the Treaties of Utrecht, Rasttat and Baden.
