[EN]The aim of the study was to analyze the relationship between the support provided by the parents to the physical activity of their children and various indicators of fitness (strength, speed, and resistance), frequency of weekly practice, enjoyment and intention to be physically asset in the future. 729 parent-child dyads participated in this research. The provision of both structural and emotional parental support was more likely that teens obtain higher values in some indices of fitness as well as self-report measures, although some differences were observed depending on the sex of the adolescent. These results may have important implications for the design of family-based in order to increase rates of physical activity interventions for their children.
