PsycInfo, PubMed y Web of Science.
Child-to-parent violence is a growing phenomenon and previous studies show that parental educational styles have a significant influence on this issue. The results indicate that the authoritarian and negligent styles are the ones that most predict the abuse of children towards their parents. Regarding its dimensions, excessive parental control and warmth, also predicts this violence. In relation to specific parenting practices, the use of physical punishment, poor family communication, and family inconsistency are associated with a higher risk of abuse. These findings can help future prevention of this abusive situation.
