Abstract

El pasado histórico de Arjona hunde sus raíces en la edad de bronce, transformándose siglos más tarde en un Oppidum íbero, que alcanzará en la necrópolis de Piquía el mayor símbolo de expresión artística y dinástica de un príncipe, cuyo hallazgo ha reinventado la protohistoria de la actual provincia de Jaén. Uno de los grandes descubrimientos de nuestra época es la urna íbera de los guerreros que procede de nuestros antepasados iberos donde se representa escenas de lucha y juegos funerarios con un mensaje de perpetuidad del linaje aristocrático guerrero del príncipe ibero de Urgavo. Nos adentraremos en las esculturas y monumentos iberos que había en nuestra localidad en un pasado.
