Resumen
[ES]La enseñanza de idiomas extranjeros ha proliferado en los últimos años debido
fundamentalmente a la globalización. Las nuevas tecnologías también han incorporado
al léxico común gran cantidad de extranjerismos procedentes fundamentalmente del
inglés y el desarrollo de la mundialización también ha entrañado la proliferación de
palabras procedentes del inglés (cash, e-commerce, tax, free, etc.).
Los nuevos métodos tecnológicos también han simplificado considerablemente
las tediosas búsquedas en diccionarios bilingües al uso: internet permite la traducción
casi instantánea no solo de palabras sino también de textos.
Por otro lado, los contextos bilingües son cada vez más frecuentes.
Por eso ha surgido en los últimos años un debate sobre la conveniencia de la
impartición de sinonimia en la didáctica de LE / L2.
El presente texto permite dilucidar mediante el aporte de casos y metodologías
si el estudio de la sinonimia es adecuado para el proceso enseñanza aprendizaje de
lenguas extranjeras. Se abre así un viejo debate sobre la conveniencia de la impartición
de la sinonimia en las clases de idiomas, y se aportan distintos puntos de vista (unas
voces a favor, porque estimula el lexicón del alumno, y otras en contra, que sostienen
que requiere un esfuerzo extra y una saturación de contenidos en el alumno).

[EN]Foreign language teaching has proliferated in recent years due mainly to globalization. The new technologies have also incorporated into the common lexicon a large number of foreigners mainly from English and the development of globalization has also entered into the proliferation of identified English words (cash, electronic commerce, taxes, free, etc.). The new technological methods have also easily simplified tedious searches in bilingual dictionaries to use: Internet allows almost instantaneous translation not only of words but also of texts. On the other hand, bilingual contexts are becoming more frequent. 4 That is why a debate has arisen in recent years on the advisability of the teaching of synonymy in the teaching of LE / L2. The present text allows to elucidate by means of the report of cases and methodologies if the study of the synonymy is suitable for the process of teaching of foreign languages. This opens an old debate about the desirability of the teaching of synonymy in language classes, and different points of view are contributed (some voices in favour, because it stimulates the student's lexicon, and others against, which argue that it requires an extra effort and a saturation of content in the student).
