[EN] With the support of advanced Web 2.0 technology and the proliferation of smart mobile devices, social media have gone from being a form of entertainment to a fully integrated part of nearly every aspect of our daily life. Against this background, more and more education scholars are showing an interest in exploring the possibilities they offer for improving students’ motivation and academic performance in general. Specifically, it has been the field of foreign language learning which has shown greater interest in the utilisation of these social media. However, few studies have been conducted to analyse language learners’ position as regards the utilization of these platforms for didactic purposes. The present Master’s Dissertation aims at filling this gap by investigating secondary school students’ perception on using TikTok, one of the fastest growing social media among teenagers today, to learn English as a foreign language.
