Defensa y pruebas que identifican al protagonista de “El nombre del viento” como picaro

Abstract

"Este trabajo académico tiene como objetivo el andlisis del personaje Kvothe, protagonista de E/ nombre del viento, del autor Patrick Rothfuss, con la intencién de demostrar si puede considerarse dentro del arquetipo de picaro o no. Para lograr tal fin, la primera parte del trabajo recopila las caracteristicas clasicas atribuidas a este tipo de personajes; seguidamente se analizara la evolucién del personaje a través de la obra, aportando citas y argumentos que demuestre su vinculacién con el arquetipo del picaro. Respecto a la segunda parte, se procedera a la comparacién, tanto de Ja obra como del personaje, con e/ Lazarillo de Tormes estableciendo diferencias y semejanzas para conseguir el fin de este estudio. La comparacién con esta obra se justifica siguiendo dos criterios: la similitud entre los protagonistas de ambas, asi como la representacién de Lazaro como el primer picaro."

This academic work aims at analyzing the character Kvothe, protagonist of The name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss, with the intention of interpreting whether he can be considered within the rogue archetype or not. To achieve this, the first part of the work collects the classic characteristics attributed to these types of characters, as well as the character’s evolution throughout the play, providing quotes and arguments that demonstrate its connection with the rogue archetype. With regards to the second part, both the work and the character will be compared with the Lazarillo de Tormes establishing differences and similarities to achieve the end of this study. The comparison within this work is justified by following two criteria: the similarity between the protagonists of both works, as well as the representation of Lazaro as the first rogue,
