[EN] The aim of this project is the rehabilitation of an old warehouse on one of the banks of the Basin River in Nottingham. Energy-efficient housing is going to be built inside the warehouse, considering the Spanish construction existing rules and the Passivhaus standards. The idea is improve the architectural project making five proposals; add a new exterior glass facade, put thermal insulation over the outer face of the existing facade, build new balconies on the west side of the building to get more hours of natural sunlight, design horizontal flats facing over the two directions East - West and install central heating powered by geothermal energy. In order to check the proposal efficiency, the heat transfer of the wall is calculated, as well as central heating and geothermal power installation. In the same way, the construction description and calculation of the balconies and glass facade structure are included in the project.
