PSICOFISIOLOGÍA Y PSICOFARMACOLOGÍA DE LOS SÍNTOMAS DEPRESIVOS QUE PUEDEN ACOMPAÑAR AL CLIMATERIO: UNA REVISIÓN BIBLIOGRÁFICA.

Abstract

El climaterio ha estado históricamente relacionado con la enfermedad y la patología hasta llegar a medicalizar esta etapa en la mayoría de ocasiones. Por este motivo, el presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado (TFG) pretende hacer una revisión sistemática de diversos estudios donde se relacione la influencia de diferentes fármacos con la mejora de la sintomatología depresiva que puede darse en este período. Scopus, Psycinfo y PubMed fueron las bases de datos que permitieron la búsqueda sistemática de los estudios. La conclusión principal que se puede extraer es que la intervención con mujeres climatéricas debe ser individualizada e integral, pues la administración de una Terapia Hormonal Sustitutiva (THS) o de un antidepresivo, como puede ser el Escitalopram, la Denvenlafaxina, etc., dependerá de la sintomatología presente. No obstante, son numerosas las limitaciones presentadas en estos estudios, como el escaso número de la muestra, el reducido tiempo de los ensayos, etc.

The climacteric period has historically been related to illness and pathology to the point of medicalizing this stage on most occasions. Therefore, this Final Degree Project (TFG) carried out a systematic review of studies relating the influence of different drugs on the improvement of the depressive symptomatology that sometimes characterizes this period. The Scopus, Psycinfo and PubMed databases were used for the systematic search of the studies. It can be concluded that intervention with women in the climacteric period must be individualized and comprehensive, as the administration of a Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) or an antidepressant, such as Escitalopram, Denvenlafaxine, etc., depends on the present symptoms. However, there are many limitations to these studies, including the small sample size, the short time period of the trials, etc.
