Resumen
La educación emocional surge como una respuesta educativa a una serie de necesidades que se dan en la sociedad actual. Por ello, se tratan algunas de las definiciones y modelos que se han creado acerca de ella, como por ejemplo el modelo de Goleman.
El interés de este trabajo se centra en dar a conocer la importancia de la IE y la necesidad de desarrollarla desde edades muy tempranas. Además, trata acerca de cómo se ha demostrado que la inteligencia emocional ayuda a desenvolverse mejor ante diversas situaciones y que por lo tanto, también mejora el rendimiento académico del alumnado. Pero no solo hay que trabajar con ella en la escuela, el seno familiar también es un lugar necesario e idóneo para su correcto desarrollo.
Por último, destacar que este trabajo incluye programas a nivel internacional especializados en la IE. Así como, una unidad didáctica para fomentar la educación emocional.
Emotional education emerges as an educational response of a series of needs that exist in today's society. Therefore, some of the definitions and models that have been created about it are discussed, such as the Goleman model. The interest of this work is focused on making known the importance of EI and the need to develop it from a very early age. In addition, it deals with how it has been shown that emotional intelligence helps to cope better with various situations and, therefore, also improves the academic performance of students. But it is not only necessary to work with it at school, family is also necessary and an ideal place for its proper development. Finally, it should be noted that this work includes international programs specialized in EI as well as a didactic unit to promote emotional education.
