Resumen
[ES] Los objetivos de este trabajo son, por un lado, estudiar cómo ha
evolucionado el tipo de cambio del euro frente a las monedas de
Estados Unidos y de los países latinoamericanos en los que España
realiza mayor inversión directa. Centramos el estudio en dos
periodos de tiempo: el primero desde 1999 hasta 2007, coincidente
con el nacimiento del euro hasta que se inicia la crisis económica
y, el segundo, desde 2008 hasta 2014, correspondiente a la Gran
Recesión. Por otra paiie, se analiza la evolución de la inversión
directa española en los países mencionados desde 1993 hasta
2014. A continuación, se examina la relación que existe entre el
tipo de cambio del euro respecto a las divisas americanas y la
inversión directa que España realiza en esta zona geográfica. Tras
estos análisis, llegamos a la conclusión de que la apreciación del
euro frente a las divisas americanas ( depreciación de las monedas
anfitrionas) anima a España a realizar inversión directa en dichos
países.
[EN] The objectives of this work are, firstly, to study how it has evolved the exchange rate of the euro against the currencies of US and Latín American countries where Spain takes more direct investment. The study focused on two periods: the first from 1999 to 2007, coinciding with the bilih of the euro until the economic crisis began and the second, from 2008 to 2014, corresponding to the Great Recession. Moreover, the evolution of Spanish direct Código UNESCO 5310.07 5310.01 5310.90 investment in these countries 1s analyzed from 1993 to 2014. Then, the relationship between the exchange rate of the euro against the American cunency and direct investment is examined Spain makes in this geographical area. After this analysis, we concluded that the appreciation of the euro against the American cmTency ( depreciation of currencies host) encourages Spain to make direct investment in these countries.
