CARMEN BENÍTEZ MARCHANTE (1928 - 2005): ESTUDIO DE LAS OBRAS LOCALIZADAS EN EL ARCHIVO DE LA ASOCIACIÓN MUSICAL “FELIPE MORENO” DE CÚLLAR VEGA

Abstract

[ES] Este trabajo presenta una investigación sobre la compositora andaluza Carmen Benítez Marchante, la cual ha dejado un legado de obras y composiciones para banda de música que se encuentran disponibles en números archivos de estas formaciones, debido a que ella misma era la encargada de acudir y, de manera altruista, ofrecer su música para que fuera interpretada. Este proyecto no sólo intenta contribuir al arduo proceso de conseguir que la mujer compositora y su producción artística estén presentes en los atriles de las distintas formaciones y músicos profesionales, así como en el currículo y programaciones de los centros educativos o conservatorios, sino que también con él se recuperan y analizan esas “tradicionales” composiciones originales para banda de música.

[EN] Provided below is an investigation on the Andalusian composer Carmen Benítez Marchante, who has left a legacy of works and compositions for music bands (wind bands) that are available in numerous archives of these formations. This is because she herself was in charge of attending and, altruistically, offer her music to be performed. This project not only tries to contribute to the arduous process of achieving that the female composers and their artistic production have significant presence in the music stands of the different formations and professional musicians, as well as in the educational programme of schools or conservatories, but also to recover and analyze those “traditional” original compositions for music band.
